The 2006 ITUG Australasia and OZTUG Conference Provides the Latest Global Knowledge of HP to Local NonStop Users

The 2006 ITUG Australasia and OZTUG Conference & Trade Show provided local NonStop users a chance to hear about the latest HP NonStop information from HP experts, senior executives, business partners, and users. The conference was a complete success with NonStop™ professionals assembled for this year's event, held 24 - 25 July in Sydney, Australia at the Citigate Sebel Sydney. Delegates from Australia and Asia gathered together for this two-day conference with surrounding social activities, which provided delegates with a diverse technical program, peer networking opportunities, and trade show.

The conference kicked off with the popular HP sponsored cocktail reception on the rooftop of the Park Hyatt Hotel in The Rocks, Sydney. Conference delegates enjoyed food and beverages while taking in the breathtaking view across Sydney Harbour and the city skyline.

Peter Shell, OZTUG Chairman, opened up the first day of sessions with a welcome to all attendees to the 2006 ITUG Australasia and OZTUG Conference. Philip Chua, VP for HP ESS Sales, Asia Pacific followed with an HP keynote address on the Adaptive Enterprise. Wolfgang Breidbach from Bank-Verlag in Germany was on hand to discuss the move of Bank-Verlag's Authorisation Centre to Integrity NonStop. Mike Dowers, VP, Real-Time Software Development (RTSD), Technology Solutions Group (TSG), HP gave attendees an update on the NonStop Division Business and Ken Dixon, APJ Manager Global Customer Support Centre followed with a keynote on the Overview of the Global Customer Support Centre Oranisation.

Technical, vendor, general sessions, and dedicated exhibits viewing filled the afternoon and lead into a cocktail reception followed by an extremely well-attended networking dinner sponsored by HP. Murray Hartin provided the entertainment for the night, cracking up the audience with his comedic talent and poems.

Day two launched with a video presentation featuring Martin Fink, Vice President and General Manager, HP NonStop Enterprise Division. Herbert Zwenger, General Manager, NonStop Enterprise Division, Asia Pacific Region followed with his Asia-Pacific Keynote address. He was followed by Richard Buckle updating the audience on the new things happening within ITUG. The morning concluded with Jon Healey, Senior Technical Consultant for SunGard Securities Processing.

Delegates spent the rest of the day in technical session breakouts and visiting the Trade Show. Attendees received the latest in technical education and Business Solutions. Delegates also enjoyed vendor tracks and the trade show and concluded their day and conference experience with an interactive hot topics panel session.
